Job Title: Mobile Technician

Red Rover Service is seeking an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. This role requires expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and DEF systems across various vehicles and types of equipment. As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our diesel-powered customers.

  • Flat rate pay is based on a percentage of the company labor rate. When we increase our rates, you automatically get your increase.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repair tasks on diesel engines/ DEF systems/ Trailers/ Liftgates and other equipment.
  • Safely provide emergency road service when necessary to ensure that the Customer’s equipment is returned to operation in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual fleet maintenance inspections to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
  • HVAC diagnostics and repair.
  • Welding experience required – Aluminum and steel
  • Must be a team player that communicates well with colleagues.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate trucks.
  • Mechanic’s Basic Tool Set required
  • Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
  • Must be open to a flexible/changing work schedule as needed. Every day is different.
  • Technical degree (preferred), previous truck/trailer repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit/kneel for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Push and pull objects up to 100 lbs. throughout the workday; lift material weighing 50 lbs. occasionally up to 80 pounds with or without assistance; bend, kneel, or crouch to perform repairs or collect equipment stored at ground level
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
