Mobile Trailer Repair in Monroe and Charlotte, NC

A trailer that can’t be loaded, hooked or legally pulled is dead weight on your schedule. Red Rover Service sends a mobile technician to the trailer, whether it’s sitting in your drop yard, backed into a customer’s dock or parked on the shoulder, anywhere around Monroe, Charlotte and Union County. We repair lights, wiring, ABS, air lines, brakes and landing gear, weld and fabricate steel, fix liftgates and inspect trailers, then get them back in rotation without a tow.

Trailer Work We Handle on Site

Lights and wiring

Dead marker lights, a flickering stop lamp or a bad pigtail is an easy way to pick up a violation. We track down shorts, corroded plugs and broken harness runs, then repair or replace the wiring so every light works.

ABS diagnosis and repair

If the trailer ABS lamp stays on, we test sensors, modulators and wiring to find the fault and repair it on site whenever the parts and access allow.

Air lines and air leaks

We find and fix leaks at gladhands, fittings and lines, and replace chafed or cracked air hoses so the trailer builds and holds air properly.

Trailer brake repair

When a trailer’s brakes need work, we repair them where the trailer sits. This is a separate, quoted repair. It is not part of our preventive maintenance, which includes only a visual brake check.

Landing gear

Landing gear that’s bent, binding or won’t crank can leave a trailer stuck at a dock. We repair or replace gear legs and cranks so you can drop and hook again.

Welding and fabrication

Our mobile welding rig repairs cracked brackets, broken mounts, split steel and damaged ramps. When a part is back-ordered, we fabricate brackets, plates and mounts to fit. Send photos and rough measurements when you call.

Liftgates, inspections and roadside calls

We troubleshoot and fix liftgates at your dock, perform 120-point DOT inspections on one trailer or a whole row, and handle breakdowns through our emergency roadside service during business hours, usually within 60 to 90 minutes.

Keeping Trailers Off the Breakdown List

Trailers tend to get less attention than tractors until something breaks. If you run a fleet, pair trailer inspections with our fleet preventive maintenance program. We track when each unit is due and call you, so inspections and repairs happen on your schedule rather than on the side of US-74.

What to Have Ready When You Call

  • Trailer and truck details: trailer type and length, plus the year and make of the tractor or truck pulling it.
  • The problem: what broke or what you’re seeing, such as lights out, an ABS lamp or an air leak, plus any fault codes.
  • Exact location: street address, or the highway, direction of travel and nearest exit or mile marker.
  • Access: gate codes, yard hours, who to ask for at the dock and where the trailer is parked in the lot.

Straightforward Pricing

Every call carries one $75 flat fuel charge. There’s no mileage charge, no minimum and no call-out fee. You’ll hear the labor and parts price and approve it before we start.

When Mobile Repair Isn’t the Right Fit

Most trailer repairs can be done where the trailer sits, but not all of them. Major structural rebuilds, collision damage and jobs that need a shop lift are better handled in a full-service shop, and we’ll say so up front instead of starting something we can’t finish properly. We’re also closed nights and weekends, so a trailer that goes down after hours will be first on our list the next business morning.

Where We Repair Trailers

We work out of Monroe and cover Charlotte, Monroe, Indian Trail, Stallings, Matthews, Wingate and Marshville, plus the trucking lanes along the US-74, Monroe Expressway and I-485 corridor. See every town on our service areas page.

Trailer Repair FAQs

Can you weld a trailer at our yard?

Yes. Mobile welding is one of our core services. We bring the welder and the material to your yard or dock, and we can fabricate a replacement part when one isn’t available.

Do you charge for the drive out to our location?

There’s a flat $75 fuel charge per call and nothing else for travel. No mileage, no minimum and no call-out fee.

Is trailer brake repair included in PM, or separate?

No. Preventive maintenance includes a visual brake check only. If we spot a brake problem, trailer brake repair is quoted and done as a separate repair once you approve it.

Can you inspect several trailers on one visit?

Yes. We can inspect a group of trailers in your lot during one scheduled visit, so your drivers don’t have to shuttle units back and forth.

How fast can someone get to a broken-down trailer?

During business hours, the typical ETA is 60 to 90 minutes, and most repairs are finished the same day.

What hours can I call for trailer repair?

Monday through Thursday, 8 AM to 6 PM, and Friday, 8 AM to 5:30 PM Eastern. We’re closed nights and weekends. If you need us after hours, send a work request and we’ll reach out the next business morning.
