I-85 Truck Repair Through Gaston County

From the Catawba River bridge at Belmont to the Kings Mountain exits near the South Carolina line, I-85 carries a heavy load of freight through Gaston County. It’s the main truck route between Charlotte and the Upstate, and new distribution parks keep adding trucks every year. Red Rover Service repairs trucks and trailers along the whole corridor, on the shoulder, at the docks and in the yards beside it. Our Monroe shop is 35 to 50 driving miles from these exits, and a tech is based nearby on the west side to shorten the trip.

Breaking Down on I-85: First Steps

Get as far onto the shoulder as you can, or take the next exit if the truck will make it. Turn on your hazards, set your triangles and stay clear of traffic. Then call us with your direction (northbound toward Charlotte or southbound toward Spartanburg), the last exit or mile marker you passed, and what the truck is doing. Ramps and the river bridge are poor places to work, so an exit lot or truck parking area is always better.

Corridor Services

What to Have Ready When You Call

  • Truck and trailer year, make and unit numbers.
  • The problem and any codes on the dash.
  • Northbound or southbound, plus the nearest exit or mile marker.
  • For yards and docks, the building, door and check-in steps.

Hours and Pricing

We run Monday–Thursday from 8 AM to 6 PM and Friday from 8 AM to 5:30 PM ET, and we’re closed nights and weekends. ETA is 60–90 min typical during business hours. Every call is a single $75 flat fuel charge, with no mileage, minimum or call-out fee, and we quote parts and labor first.

When Mobile Repair Isn’t the Right Fit

If the truck needs a lift, major engine work or a big drivetrain repair, a tow to a full shop is the right move. We’ll tell you after we diagnose it.
